The Resort Tax Board serves on a voluntary basis and oversees collection and appropriation of Big Sky’s local 3% sales tax. The board meets monthly, reviews applications for funding in May and appropriates funding in June.

Resort Tax Board Members serve a four-year term once elected in a May special election in even-numbered years. This year, two of the five seats will be open. If only two candidates have filed, an election won’t be necessary, and no ballots will be sent. If there are more than two candidates and an election is necessary, ballots will be mailed between April 18-23.
