Investing in Big Sky
Warren Miller Performing Arts Center
The Warren Miller Performing Arts Center, Big Sky’s first indoor performing arts venue, presents in the winter, creates in the summer, and inspires year-round. The Big Sky Resort tax has been an integral part of the development of the WMPAC’s mission and vision through its support of world-class artists and organizations coming to Big Sky to engage and inspire our community. In the Winter time, the WMPAC presents a dazzling display of talent and vision from around the world from December to March each year through a season with 9 major productions. Past performers have included the legendary Kronos Quartet, poet laureate Billy Collins, 10-time Grammy winners Take 6, Vanessa Williams, and so many more. In 2018 and 2019, luminaries like Ira Glass and Monica Bill Barnes will grace the stage in Big Sky for destination and Montana audiences alike. In the summer, the Warren Miller PAC focuses on the development of new works with resident companies, and in the process educates our many members of the local Big Sky community. Those new works then go on to tour the country and return to WMPAC in future Winter Seasons. The Resort Tax was also a key player in the capital campaign for WMPAC, and since opening the doors in 2013, we have successfully presented over 150 performances to more than 35,000 patrons. In that time, over 500 professional artists and 3,000 local and regional artists have performed on stage.
