In the June Primary Elections, voters in both Gallatin and Madison counties chose to conduct a review of their local governments. Now the voters will elect study commissioners to head up this effort by evaluating the current local government’s structure and proposing recommendations for improvements, if any. These recommendations will be proposed to voters by November 2026.

Gallatin County will elect 7 study commissioners.

Madison County will elect 3 study commissioners.

To run for a seat, candidates must:
▶ Live and be registered voters in the county they wish to represent.
▶ Not hold any current elected positions within the local governments being studied.
Candidate filing period closes at 5:00 pm on August 12.
